Classic Gizmo

Terms

The plain-English version of how buying and using Classic Gizmo software works.

These terms cover this website and the purchase of Classic Gizmo software. Each program also comes with its own End User License Agreement (in the program, under Help & Info, and in the download). For using the software, that agreement is the full legal text, and if the two ever differ it is the one that applies. Questions? contactus@classicgizmo.com.

Who we are

Classic Gizmo is a software business run by Patrick Murnane in Sydney, Australia. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Classic Gizmo.

The programs and their prices

  • Flatpak Manager: free on up to 6 installations at the same time. Using it on more than 6 at once needs a paid licence; please get in touch.
  • Gizmo App Manager: 30-day free trial, then US$24.95 once-off. One key works on 2 computers at the same time.
  • Gizmo Network Manager: 30-day free trial, then a once-off licence: Home Licence (up to 10 installs) US$49.95, or Small Business Licence (up to 30 installs) US$99.95.

Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax or VAT is added where the law requires it, and the total is shown at checkout before you pay.

What a licence gives you

  • Lifetime for version 1. A licence covers every release numbered 1.x.x, including all updates, fixes and new features released within version 1. If a later major version (2.0 and above) is ever released, it may be sold separately.
  • No subscription. You pay once. We do not charge monthly or yearly fees for the licence.
  • Installs. The number of installs is how many computers can have the key activated at the same time. To move to another computer, press Deactivate on the old one, then activate the key on the new one.
  • Trial. The 30-day trial has every feature. After it ends, the program asks for a licence before it keeps working. Nothing on your computer is changed or removed.
  • A licence is for you or your organisation to use the program. Please do not sell, rent, share or publish your key, or pull the program apart to get around the licence check.

Buying

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor and merchant of record. They take your payment, send your receipt and licence key, and handle sales tax. Your card statement will show LEMSQZY* CLASSICGIZMO. You can pay by card or PayPal. Your purchase is also covered by Lemon Squeezy's own terms, which you see at checkout.

Refunds

You can ask for a refund up to 14 days after buying. See Refunds.

Using the network programs responsibly

Gizmo Network Manager looks at the devices on a network. Please use it only on networks you own or are allowed to manage. You are responsible for deciding what to share, trust or open on your own network.

No promises beyond the law

We work hard to make the software reliable, but it is provided “as is”, and we cannot promise it will suit every computer or network or never have a fault. Back up what matters to you. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for lost data, lost profit or other indirect loss, and our total responsibility for any one program is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have that cannot be excluded by law, including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

Our names

Changes and the law

We may update these terms, and the date below shows when. A change does not reduce what you have already bought. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without limiting any rights you have under the laws where you live.
